Abstract:
A watching brief was carried out on work undertaken during the redevelopment of a plot of land. The work consisted of the machine removal of deposits and the digging of foundation trenches to facilitate the construction of a dwelling on the site. Nothing of archaeological importance was noted on the site, an overburden of 1.50-1.75m of topsoil was present which appeared to have formed a measure of protection over any surviving archaeological layers.
