Abstract:
The desk based assessment revealed that prior to the middle of the 19th century the area was mainly open foreshore, or a part of the town moor. This meant that the archaeological remains expected to be encountered would be of a post-medieval date and would be associated with shipping and harbour activities. [AIP]
