Abstract: |
The evaluation was carried out in two parts; a preliminary test pit study followed by an area excavation. A watching brief was maintained during the development of the rest of the site. The Roman road dividing insulae XX and XXI was located and its side ditch excavated. Several resurfacings of the street were identified along with an adjacent Roman building. Medieval cobbling and the post-Medieval Sheep Street pond were also located. |
