Abstract: |
The earthwork survey of the south eastern portion of Mare Pit Wood formed part of a continuing programme of archaeological works at the clay extraction site. The survey contained in this report completeed the coverage of Mare Pit Wood, including those areas not surveyed during previous phases. The survey revealed a series of phases of activity, including features interpreted as iron mine pits, as well as a later marl pit. [Au(abr)] |
