Abstract: |
<summary>An assessment of an area proposed for an extension to the Brackmills Industrial Estate, to the south of Northampton, including documentary survey and fieldwalking, was undertaken. The site was divided into an inner zone (130 hectares) and an outer zone (120 hectares). No sites were identified in the inner zone. Sites identified in the outer zone included minor concentrations of Iron Age, early to middle Saxon and medieval pottery. The medieval concentration was presumed to indicate that the village of Great Houghton, lying immediately to the north, once extended into this area.
