Abstract: |
A watching brief was carried out during the excavation of underpinning pits; the Tyburn River was assumed to run beneath the standing building on the site. The area had been part of an early medieval manor, and 17th century Civil War defences had lain nearby. During the watching brief, alluvial fills of the Tyburn, sealed by levelling for construction of the present building, were recorded. [AIP] |
