Abstract: |
The assessment identified that the present buildings within the site dated from the mid to late 20th century. Trinity Street was built during this time and South Street was widened, encroaching into the land on its north side. It is not known to what extent the ground within the site was disturbed and/or truncated during this development. There was a potential for the survival of earlier buildings and associated features, and evidence for industries such as smithing. Three chapel sites had been identified within or on the edge of the development area, which may have had associated burial grounds. [Au(abr)] |
