Abstract: |
An earth resistance survey and a magnetometer survey were undertaken at a proposed development site which lay immediately to the south of a church, and abutted the south-west corner of its graveyard. The west tower of the church was thought to have been of early Norman origin, and the re-use of two pieces of pre-Conquest sculpture within an internal wall may have indicated activity in the locale during the Saxon period. No anomalies of probable archaeological origin were identified by either of the geophysical survey techniques. [Au(adp)] |
