Abstract:
The watching brief carried out during the works for a cycle-walkway within the churchyard revealed a burial vault and cut feature containing iron slag, some probable hammerscales and two handmade iron nails. No other archaeological features or deposits were exposed. This suggested that the path was established before burials took place in this area of the churchyard, as graves now flanked the path along its entire length. [Au(adp)]
