Abstract: |
Excavation following a watching brief on a shaft being sunk as part of the Jubilee Line extensions revealed Roman and later features. Stakes forming a waterside feature, and the floor of a building were revealed, dating from the 1st century A.D. later Roman deposits had been truncated. Post-medieval inhumations associated with a cemetery known from cartographic sources were also found. [AIP] |
