Abstract: |
<summary>An evaluation prior to redevelopment found little evidence for medieval or earlier activity on a site which had been heavily truncated by a modern basement. Where this had not damaged deposits, brick-lined pits and a ditch dating from the 17th century and later - probably associated with the exploitation of the area after the construction of the Grand Surrey Canal - were discovered. {italon}AIP{italoff}{spacea} |
