Abstract: |
It was thought that prehistoric material may have been present in the study area, perhaps below layers of alluvium. There were 10 identified red hills (Iron Age and Roman saltworking sites) within the study area, likely associated with a nearby settlement site. Archaeological remains from this period to the Second World War were found throughout the environs, and as a result the area was declared one of relatively high potential. [Au(adp)] |
