Abstract: |
An archaeological evaluation was undertaken across the site prior to proposed development. This revealed two post holes with traces of decayed wood in their bases, one of which contained late 17th century pottery. A large rectangular cut was also revealed which contained a similar fill to these post holes. A number of wall structures were recorded. The report concluded that the earliest remains of the site dated to the 17th century. Minor domestic structural remains and further dump levels of probably 8th century date completed the archaeological history of the site. [Au(adp)] |
