Abstract: |
The watching brief was undertaken during groundworks associated with the construction of a garage and log store in the grounds of Hopton Hall. The development area was located within the area of the medieval moat surrounding the hall. The foundation trenches were cut through a deep rubble deposit which was possibly associated with the deliberate backfilling of the moat. [Au] |
