Abstract: |
The sources consulted indicated that there was evidence to suggest a moderate potential for significant prehistoric remains. Archaeological evidence suggested that there was a high potential for remains dating to the Roman period, due to the site's location near to the extensive Roman settlement at Wilderspool. Since the 18th century, the site area had been subject to many changes due to the construction of the canal and the industry the canal brought to the area. [Au(abr)] |
