Abstract: |
The structure recorded during the watching brief was almost certainly a saw pit. The walls were clearly of two different builds, and it is possible that the north wall of the saw pit was part of the former foundry. This indicated that although the foundry had been demolished, some of the walls had stood to a considerable height during the second half of the 19th-century.[Au(abr)] |
