Abstract: |
The desk-based assessment was to be used in the production of an environmental assessment. The study covered an area of 9km sq, and revealed no recorded evidence of prehistoric or Romano-British activity. The western boundary of the site was formed by a sunken way of unknown date, whilst the remainder of the land was a mixture of cultivated land and woodland. Place-name evidence suggested that some of the woodland existed in the medieval period. [Au] |
