Abstract: |
A programme of archaeological investigation was undertaken in response to a proposal to replace existing retail units on the site. Park Street was thought to be a planned component of the medieval town. Soil investigations carried out by DTS Technology Ltd., were monitored and an inspection of the existing cellars was undertaken. The front cellar of 14 Park Street appeared to have been extensively rebuilt, rather more survived of the original fabric of the front cellar of 12 Park Street. Nothing of archaeological significance was identified during the soil investigations. [Au(adp)] |
