Abstract: |
The survey and excavations demonstrated that there had been a settlement at the site since the medieval period. The site comprised two distinct areas of buildings, separated by a spread of earthworks. It was thought that the site was perhaps a larger settlement that had contracted into two separate entities. Artefacts at the site dated the occupation phases from the 12th/13th centuries and the 18th/19th centuries, with a hiatus in between. The site was in a good state of repair and had considerable future research potential. [Au(adp)] |
