Abstract: |
A desk-top assessment of a proposed development site was undertaken. Prehistoric artefacts, iron age occupation evidence and a Roman settlement had been recorded in the area. Roman remains, including burials, buildings and a road, had been excavated., whilst 9th century and later medieval settlement had been documented. The surrounding area had been developed since early post-medieval times. It was concluded that archaeological deposits could have survived at the site. [AIP] |
