Abstract: |
The assessment showed that the site was part of Haughton Park in the late 17th century and early 18th century which was privately enclosed in the late 18th century. The area of proposed development was within a plantation set out at about the same time and cropmarks to the south recorded in the SMR were of post-medieval field boundaries. Nothing of archaeological interest had been identified within the site or its immediate vicinity. It was therefore considered that the site had a negligible archaeological potential and it was suggested that no further action was required. [Au] |
