Abstract: |
<summary>A desk-top study of a site which lay close to two Conservation Areas was undertaken. Roman sites and find-spots, which included several burials, had been recorded in the surrounding area. Rocque's map of 1741-5 indicated that 18th century building and garden remains were likely to exist on the site, and a toll gate lay in the near vicinity. It was concluded that the site had a high archaeological potential, and that an assessment of deposit survival should be made. {italon}AIP{italoff}{spacea} |
