Abstract: |
An evaluation was carried out at a proposed residential development site. Proposals included the conversion of an existing building, Milford House, which was a Grade II Listed Building dating from 1730; it had been gutted by fire in 1983. In the surrounding area a number of prehistoric artefacts had been recovered, including Mesolithic flints, Neolithic flint arrowheads and Iron Age pottery. A Roman coin had also been found, and a number of post-medieval mill sites were known. During the evaluation, no archaeological features or artefacts were revealed. [AIP] |
