Abstract: |
A watching brief was maintained during internal groundworks at Home Farm Barn, a building adjacent to the Scheduled Ancient Monument of the motte and bailey castle at Upper Slaughter (SAM 339). Excavations for the footings of an internal partition wall did not intrude below the level representing modern deposition and thus no archaeological deposits were affected. Several sherds of late-medieval pottery were recovered during the excavation of the foundation trench for a fireplace however. [AIP] |
