Abstract: |
Recording noted that the webbing of the vault contained a number of worked Caen stones and some York flagstones. It seemsed likely that some waste fragments of Caen stone were included when the vault was constructed. Other fragments of moulding and building stone may have been incorporated at this time from the demolition of the early 12th century apsidal chancel. [Au(abr)] |
