Abstract: |
The site was identified as lying on the fringes of the medieval town, and that there had been no significant archaeological investigations of the historic core. The study identified three areas where development may have had some impact on buried archaeological remains: a) a possible medieval boundary feature called Oliver's Gutter; b) the area on the backlands of medieval properties which would have fronted Broad Street; c) the area on the backlands of medieval properties which would have fronted South Street.
