Abstract: |
A watching brief was carried out during the excavation of service trenches within the grounds of Bisham Abbey, a Scheduled Ancient Monument (no. 148). Medieval building rubble had been found during previous work at the site. During the watching brief, a chalk wall and a chalk spread, possibly a road, were observed. These may have dated from the mid-16th century or possibly earlier. Two brick walls and a vaulted drain, of 19th century or later date, were also recorded. [Au(abr)] |
