Abstract:		 Trial trenching was carried out on earthworks prior to a planning application for the development of the site. A trench was excavated over the moat and substantiated its medieval origins and the more recent landscaping of the moat platform. A trench was also excavated through a mound on the site, the mound was identified as being modern in origin. [Au(abr)]
