Abstract: |
Refurbishments were undertaken at Bay Hall, a 16th century timber framed two bay aisled hall, with significant 19th century alterations. Prior to refurbishment works an evaluation excavation of the ground underneath the suspended wooden floors of two rooms was undertaken. The excavations revealed undisturbed natural in one of the trenches, and a line of post holes in the other. The post holes were aligned east-west and may have been part of an earlier 15th century building. The post packing found in the features was probably made up of debris from an earlier building of a possible industrial nature. [Au(adp)] |
