A strip, map and sample excavation was carried out on the quarry site. Five interconnecting linear features were uncovered, one of which contained fragments of a Samian bowl. Twenty-seven shallow charcoal filled pits were identified and were radiocarbon dated to the Saxon period. [Au(abr)]
