Abstract: |
A watching brief was carried out during the redevelopment of a site, which lay within the historic core of medieval Sheffield. The remains of an undated stone-lined well were identified, but the potential for the survival of other deposits and features of archaeological interest was precluded by the presence of extensive cellarage beneath the High Street frontage, and extending back along the visible length of George Street.
