Abstract: |
Geophysical surveys were conducted as part of a phased programme of archaeological works, required to assist a development programme at Yarm School. The works comprised four separate areas of geomagnetic survey. In area 1 evidence of medieval ridge and furrow cultivation, a sub-rectangular ditched enclosure and possible boundary/trackway features were detected. The survey also indicated areas of modern spoil deposition, ground disturbance, modern services and possible modern structures. In Area 2 a small curvilinear gully/ditch was detected as well as modern disturbance and ferrous litter in the soil. In Area 3 areas of modern disturbance and ferrous litter in the soil were detected. In Area 4 modern services were located. [Au(abr)] |
