The abstract describing the content of the publication or report
Abstract:		 An archaeological assessment was undertaken in response to planning condition. The site lay within an Area of High Archaeological Potential, on the northwestern edge of the medieval and early post-medieval village. Previous archaeological investigation in the area had produced evidence for all periods, and some notable individual finds of prehistoric, Roman and Saxon date. However, there was no well-documented evidence for settlement in proximity to the site prior to the 11th century. It was considered that the site had moderate to good potential for archaeological remains of the medieval and post-medieval periods. It was most likely that this would have related to agricultural land use, although it may have included evidence of boundary ditches, pits and ancillary buildings. The assessment concluded that some fieldwork should take place on site, possibly in the form of small-scale trenching targeted in areas of specific potential. [Au(abr)]
