Abstract: |
Consultation of documentary and cartographic records indicated that the proposed development area was situated in an area of considerable archaeological interest. Romano-British settlement remains had been identified immediately adjactent to the study area whilst several mills of later date were known from the locality. Trial trenching identified evidence of Romano-British metalworking activity within the southern part of the study area. No significant archaeological features were found across the remainder of the site. [Au] |
