Abstract: |
A geophysical (fluxgate gradiometer) survey, covering c.5.5ha, was carried out along part of the proposed route of Shafton Bypass. The survey identified magnetic anomalies describing a sub-circular, internally sub-divided enclosure. At least two discrete anomalies, which could have located pits, were noted inside the enclosure. Other magnetic anomalies were identified which might have been associated with the localised extraction of coal. [Au] |
