Abstract The abstract describing the content of the publication or report Abstract:	This study recorded the archaeological remains, (finds and sites of all periods from the Mesolithic to Modern), which were disturbed by the creation of the road through Northamptonshire between 1989 and 1994. The findings were placed into the context of previous archaeological knowledge. Also considered was the suitability of the methodology of this type of archaeological watching brief and the extent to which results can inform future research strategies, both in the questions to be asked and in the manner of recording similar schemes.
