Abstract: |
In summary, archaeological features of a potential prehistoric date were encountered at depths of between 0.6m 0.85m within Trench 8 (the proposed location of the car park) and at a little over 0.6m within Trench 5 (the site of the intended driving range buildings). Recovered prehistoric artefacts suggested that this activity may have been more widespread and may have occurred during a period that included the Bronze Age and Iron Age. Depending on the depth and character of the intended groundworks, these archaeological remains and perhaps other unexposed examples may be at threat from the proposed developments. [Au(abr)] |
