Abstract: |
An archaeological evaluation was undertaken ahead of a proposed development. Four trenches were excavated totalling 50m in length. The archaeological sequence consisted of an undated northeast/southwest alignment of post holes and a large pit, sealed by a possible palaeosoil and apparently concentrated in the northern half of the site (trenches 1 and 2) overlain by a much more extensive sequence of dated post-medieval subsoil and garden soil horizons that was observed in all trenches.
