Abstract: |
Desk-based assessment was undertaken for two sites along St Georges Road. The site of 13 St Georges was shown to have been in use as a dwelling or a shop from the later 17th century until the end of the 19th century and was probably vacant thereafter. The sites of 23-35 St Georges Road were free of buildings until the mid 18th century after which time they were occupied by houses, shops and workshops until being amalgamated into one plot by Fullers Coachworks. A single structure covered all of the plots from then until demolition. [Auths words] |
