Abstract: |
A programme of archaeological works was conducted in advance of a proposed development for student accommodation. The works included 11 trial trenches, a gradiometer survey and a building recording (photographic). The geophysical survey identified some linear anomalies. These were not visible when the areas were excavated, however, ridge and furrow remains were recorded. All finds (medieval, post-medieval and modern) were recovered from the topsoil or modern overburden and included: pottery, glass, shell, clay pipes, metal and tile. A photographic survey of a barn on the eastern part of the site was undertaken to preserve the structure by record. No further archaeological work was recommended. [Au(adp0] |
