Abstract: |
An evaluation, comprising the excavation of 21 machine cut trenches, on land proposed for a landraising project revealed an undated ditch and two gullies, and four peat-filled former watercourses. All the features were recorded in the northern half of the site, the ditch appearing to relate to a former drain noted on OS maps as recently as 1976. No finds were recovered during the evaluation but a column of peat samples were taken from one of the former watercourses, indicating that the peat was of relatively modern formation. [Au] |
