Abstract: |
A watching brief was carried out during construction works at a site where an evaluation in 1979 had revealed archaeologically significant deposits, and where a watching brief in 1991 had recorded the site of a natural spring along with walls, pits and ditches dating to the medieval and post-medieval periods. During the 1998 watching brief, the observed subsurface deposits included silts containing 18th century ceramic fragments, and sandy silts containing charcoal and medieval ceramics. No features of archaeological interest were found. [Au(adp)] |
