Abstract: |
A watching brief was carried out during the demolition of a garage block and subsequent extension of the southwest wing. The foundations and floor level of the 19th century ballroom and demolition rubble from the 18th century wing, both demolished in the 1960's, were encountered. A stone lined culvert was also uncovered at various points. This predated the ballroom, possibly dating to the 1760's. [Au] |
