An archaeological assessment was carried out on the proposed development site and identified that although it lay in the proximity of the historic core of the town, no archaeology was known to survive, however, the area was identified as possibly forming part of medieval tenements. The land was used for horticulture in the 19th century and as a shoe makers in 1891. [Au(abr)]
