Abstract: |
The watching brief was carried out during groundworks at a development site which was thought to have potential for settlement evidence, particularly relating to medieval or post-medieval street frontage properties. The site was found to have been subject to comprehensive ground disturbance earlier in the 20th century: archaeological deposits were only seen within an area occupied until recently by a building. One deposit may have represented an internal floor surface, and two possible cultivation layers were also observed. [AIP] |
