Abstract:
A watching brief was held over the replacement of a water main. No evidence was found for the continuation of a medieval field system to the south of Chapel Hill, although evidence for possible quarrying may have been medieval or earlier. Grubbed out field boundaries were evident as slight ridges, showing that a relict system did survive outside of the centre of medieval activity around Kington Manor Farm. Only post-medieval finds were seen. [Au(abr)]
