Abstract: |
An historic landscape survey including a desk-based synthesis of cartographic and documentary sources supported by field examination, was undertaken for the parish of Laxton, a parish most noted for the survival of the system of open field farming. The survey was undertaken as part of proposals to introduction of a Countryside Stewardship Scheme. The survey identified that Laxton possessed a wide range of landscape features reflecting the development of the village and its fields from the Middle Ages to the present. [AIP] |
