Abstract: |
A desk-top assessment of the site of a building proposed for refurbishment was undertaken. The site lay within the area of early medieval Lundenwic; burials, timber buildings, pits and other occupation evidence of this date had been excavated. Prehistoric flints, Roman artefacts and Roman cemeteries had been found in the vicinity, and possible evidence of prehistoric buildings had been recorded at one site. Two Roman roads passed nearby. It was concluded that an evaluation would be necessary. [AIP] |
