Abstract: |
Excavation and a watching brief in advance of pipe laying revealed medieval features. Two phases of cess pit and a well dated to between the 12th and 14th centuries, with a probable boundary wall and traces of a building dating from later in the period. Later features were also recorded, including the probable 19th century cobbled yard. Finds of Iron Age pot were thought to relate to a nearby hillfort. Building recording was also undertaken. [AIP] |
