Abstract: |
A watching brief was carried out during the excavation of geological trial holes in the basement of a building. Neolithic, bronze age and Roman artefacts had been recovered in the surrounding area, and layers of peat and alluvial clay had been noted. During the watching brief, a series of deposits of palaeoenvironmental significance was recorded. The lower peat horizons may have been laid down during the mid-late bronze age. [AIP] |
